Gentle Chiropractic Care for Your Little One, From Day One
Children aren't just small adults, their bodies are growing, developing and adapting at a remarkable pace. Paediatric chiropractic care uses gentle, age-appropriate techniques to support healthy development, address discomfort, and help your child thrive at every stage of childhood.
Many parents are surprised to learn that chiropractic care can be beneficial from infancy through the teenage years. The techniques used for little ones look very different from adult adjustments they are light and specifically adapted to be safe and comfortable for developing bodies.
Care for Infants & Newborns
The birth process, whether vaginal or cesarean places significant physical demands on a newborn's spine and neck. Gentle chiropractic assessment and treatment in the early weeks and months can help address tension and discomfort that may be affecting your baby's comfort and development.
Common reasons parents bring their newborns and infants in:
Difficulty latching or feeding
Preference for turning the head to one side (torticollis)
Flat spots on the head (positional plagiocephaly)
Excessive fussiness or discomfort
Physical tension following birth
Support with motor milestone development
From heavy backpacks to competitive sports to hours spent looking at screens, growing bodies face real physical demands every day. Chiropractic care helps children and teens stay comfortable, move well and recover from the physical demands of an active childhood.
Care for Children & Teens
Common reasons I see children and teens:
Postural concerns from screens and devices
Sports injuries and overuse injuries
Growing pains
Headaches
Hip, knee and ankle pain
Scoliosis monitoring and support
Back and neck pain from backpacks and prolonged sitting
For infants, the pressure used is extremely light. The pressure is no more than you'd use to gently test the ripeness of a peach. For older children and teens, techniques are adapted based on their age, size and comfort level. Many kids genuinely enjoy their adjustments and look forward to coming in.
I always take the time to explain what I'm doing to both parent and child so everyone feels comfortable and informed before we begin. You are always welcome to ask questions and your child is always in control of their care.
